📖 About the Journal
Communications in Theoretical Physics (CTP) is a major academic platform in China's theoretical physics community.
Founded by Academician Peng Huanwu in 1982,
it was indexed by SCI in 1985,
becoming China's first domestically published comprehensive academic journal dedicated to theoretical physics.
The journal has always been committed to free publication and open communication,
and does not charge authors any page fees.
CTP covers all interdisciplinary areas of theoretical physics, including quantum information, high-energy physics, gravitation and cosmology,
condensed matter theory, statistical physics, biophysics, atomic and molecular physics, mathematical physics, and many other frontier fields.
The journal adheres to the principle of "run by scientists".
Academician Sun Changpu serves as the Editor-in-Chief, supported by a high-level editorial board.
CTP follows a rigorous review process that emphasizes academic quality and supports authors' professional growth.
Once published, articles are promoted through multiple channels. The journal offers special features such as Editor's Suggestion and
Chinese Highlights, and regularly organizes events like Meet the Editor-in-Chief, actively helping young researchers
grow and disseminate their work.
With a 2026 JCR quartile of Q1, CTP is becoming a key window for showcasing the level of theoretical physics research
in China and for promoting international exchange. Recently, a special section "Theoretical Physics for AI"
has been launched, and researchers worldwide are warmly invited to follow and submit to the journal.

📝 Submission Process
CTP follows a rigorous and efficient peer-review process, emphasizing academic quality and a positive author experience.
All manuscripts are submitted through the online system, and the entire process is
free of charge —
no page fees or review charges apply.
1
Prepare Manuscript
Prepare a complete manuscript following CTP formatting requirements, including abstract, keywords, figures, tables, and references.
3
Editorial Pre-screening
The editorial board conducts an initial assessment of academic quality and formatting to evaluate whether the manuscript fits the journal's scope.
4
Peer Review
Experts in the relevant field are invited to conduct a double-blind review to ensure fairness and rigor.
5
Author Revision
Revise the manuscript according to the reviewers' comments and provide a point-by-point response to enhance the paper's quality.
6
Final Decision
Editor-in-Chief Academician Sun Changpu makes the final decision on acceptance or rejection.
7
Publication & Dissemination
Upon acceptance, the article is published free of charge, distributed globally through IOP Publishing, and promoted via multiple channels.
💡 Tip: CTP adheres to the "run by scientists" philosophy, features a short review cycle, and places special emphasis on supporting and nurturing young scholars.
If you have any questions during the submission process, feel free to contact the editorial office at any time.
